Travel Insights from Google

Oct 26, 2021 | DAE & Company, Marketing

In response to COVID-19 lockdowns and travel restrictions, Google launched new Travel Insights tools that particularly focus on assisting those of us in the travel industry! These insight tools created by Google are a great start to helping the travel industry recover from these difficult times. Read on to find out how Google’s Travel Insights can be advantageous for you and your business!

Travel Insights with Google Tools

Travel Insights breaks down the information on how people plan a trip from beginning to end. Get to know each of these tools and put them to work for your marketing strategy, or just give us a call and let the professionals handle that for you so you can focus on the rest of your to-do list!

Destination Insights

The first tool, Destination Insights, provides the specific details of top sources of demand per destination. As a user, you input information such as the original country, destination country, and date range and with the output, you’ll be able to see related travel demand for the specific destination that you’re interested in.

For example, you can set “United States” as the origin and destination country, then further dig in and set “All locations” as the Origin location and your state as the Destination location to see where the demand is coming from and which cities they’re looking to travel to. This information is essential because once you understand where potential travelers are coming from, you are able to adjust your marketing campaigns and strategies when needed.

Hotel Insights

Next up we have Hotel Insights! This tool should be used when you want to understand where interest in your hotel and region is coming from. Not only will you be able to see how interest in your location has changed over time, you’ll also better understand where the interest is highest in your area. Probably most important in this section though, is the information provided on how you can attract new guests from a digital perspective. Learn more about how people are searching for your site to focus your SEO efforts more strategically and discover new advertising opportunities to attract travelers and make a booking with you as easy as possible!

Travel Analytics Center

The Travel Analytics Center differs a bit from the first two tools because it is only available for Google’s travel commercial partners. This Google tool has businesses integrate their own Google account with a wider range of Google demand data and insights. Hotel and tourism businesses find this information beneficial because they find opportunities on how they can reach potential customers. Along with these opportunities, businesses are also able to improve the performance of their operations and can make better marketing decisions based on the information they receive from this Google tool.

Other Data & Tools You Should Be Using

While Google’s Travel Insights tools are an exciting tool for hotel and tourism businesses, we also rely on some of Google’s other tools to help make better marketing decisions for our clients. If you aren’t regularly using these tools to make informed decisions about your advertising and marketing plans, you’re missing out!
